Need Help With Driveshaft

i just install a j30 vlsd on mi 96 240sx. it makin a bigpoping sound every time a shift in gear so i was thinkin that i need to shorten mi driveshaft but don't know how much. so site say 0.55"and some say 0.75". so need to know asap.

If you accelerate and let off without up shifting does the car make a loud thunk?

If so look to your carrier bushings.
