i just got finished replacing the timing chain and head gasket on my 90 240sx. now the problem is i couldnt get the car to idle at all, it would sputter and then die. i finally messing around turned the distributer counter clockwise past where the bolts will let it go and the car will idle and drive but obviously this isnt how it should be. any ideas where to start looking? im also not sure if ive got the vacuum hoses under the intake pipe on correctly. there are 3 small hoses, one has a white mark comming from the charcoal canister, one is red also from the canister and one is yellowish green. i need to know what order the go in. other than those maybe being mixed up im not sure where to start.

set you engine up on TDC #1. Then you need to pull the oil pump out of the timing cover pull the distributor out. reset the oil pump by lining the shaft up with the mark on the pump slide it into the cover and bolt it up, then slide your distributor in.
