Hey guys, I have an s13 coupe and I am getting 50mm over fenders for the rear quarter panels. I want to squeeze 17x10s back there....and ideals on what offset i should be looking at? I would guess a anywhere from +25ish to +15ish....but i was hoping someone might be able to narrow it down for me...thanks!

You probably want to get the wheel first, then fit the fender to the wheel. Doing the other way around makes it much harder on urself & overfenders are cheaper.

Also depends on things like camber, etc.

I am currently running 18x9 +20 offset in the rear very a very slight pull from rolling the fender - sticks out between 5-10mm w/ 1-1.5 neg camber - not noticable because I am also running 225/40 tires which stretch.

Sooo.... calculate from there w/ your stuff, haha.

w/ a x10 & 50mm rear panel, you can prob get like 0 offset and still be tucked...

Get the wheels first, as low offset as you can, then fit the fender over it. Easiest way.

with 50mm overfenders and a 10 inch wide wheel you should be looking for around a -20 to -30 offset, give or take depending on alignment, tire size, ride height.

a -30 offset cant be healthy for your suspension. call me crazy, but this seems like overkill.

what is your issue with? the backspacing? the wheel centerline? how do you figure it is inhealthy for suspension? plenty of cars have come with zero and negative offset wheels in the past.

------------lower offset wheels can reduce the stress on lugs and hubs; with a zero offset wheel there will be less stress compared to a positive offset wheel. so going from a +40 wheel to a -20 wheel or so can help with this.

When taking a hard corner, the outside wheels (which carry the vast majority of the load) will have this outward force increased. By lowering the offset, you decrease the outward force both at rest and under lateral acceleration.

OEM offset is designed as it is for handling characteristics. It was not designed to minimize the force on hubs and suspension pieces, but that just isn't an issue (as 99% of cars on the road would have major issues if high offset caused rapid wear). I'm not saying that lowering it is necessary, only that it is not at all detrimental (in terms of forces on suspension components).-----------ripped from freshalloy.

and, i call bull**** on low offset wheels being bad, because ive never had a problem with any of mine, ever.
