need help with dash lights

just a quick question,

I have a 97 qx4, and i need to know the following:

when you put your headlights on and ur dash lights come on, does the hazard switch and seat warmers switch illuminate also?

im installing a new sound system and figured since im back there i can change some bulbs

oh and if they are supposed to, they dont have bulbs like the climate control system, so how do u fix them?

Ya that hazard light and rear defroster light are supposed to illuminate. Don't know on the heated seats as I don't have them. Mine sometimes go out, I used to be able to tap them several times and they would come back on.... but they've been more stubborn lately and i'll have to fix mine too... I know for sure that the bulb is directly in that switch, but I don't know if one can disassemble the switch and replace bulb, or if the whole switch needs to be replaced Let us know if you find out

I'm looking into this also... by the looks of it I would say the switches have built in LEDs and the actual switch would need to be replaced. Post if you figure it out.

My hazard / rear defrost have never worked (Bought the vehicle 1 year ago this week -- 99.5 with 57k at the time). But yeah, I think you'd need the entire switch -- I did this in my 97 240sx because I finally got tired of it not working.

I have heated seats, and I've seen other Nissans with the same switch, and those don't illuminate other than the amber light to indicate they're on.

They don't have LEDs in the switches either -- they have small bulbs with blue condoms to give them a pure white look. Said condoms are not ribbed.

Nissan could never get me just the bulb, they'd only sell me the switch even though they come out with a 1/4 turn and appear to be replaceable. Sometimes the bulbs bump loose and turn on their own however, so you orta check that out first. (The HVAC in my 97 240sx had a couple bulbs that would give me problems -- began as a flicker, and eventually it stopped working. Wasn't a difficult fix, but required popping the unit open. The hazard switch on the same vehicle opened as well, but took some thought as to not break it. )
