i just bought some used tanabe sustec pro coilovers for my s13. they are a little rusted but the car i pulled them from only have like 40 thousand miles and it was wrecked. i went to put them on and noticed that on the right rear coilover, one of the two bolts used to mount on top was broken off. they press in kind of like a wheel stud would. i ve contacted tanabe to try and get a replacement but they no longer carry them for these coliovers. just wondering if anyone knows where i could get a bolt for my coilovers. no auto store around me carrys anything like i need. if anyone knows of a place near DC let me know im in desperate need of slamming my 240:)

Im not sure. Try home depot but I doubt they will have a stud. Or try any auto parts sore, even online for a stud or a skinny enough wheel stud to go through the hole

Could you beat, grind or drill it out then just find a bolt the same size and stick that through? May be hard to get a socket or wrench on the head to draw it when it's inside the spring, but with it hanging and the spring not compressed you might be able to wiggle something in there to hold it

One of my wheel studs stripped the hub. I got it out, threw a bolt in there with the same thread pitch as a lug nut, and called it good.

I just took a look at mine to check, I'm also using sustec pros...

If you try the bolt thing I suggested and position the top of the coilover so that the bolt side is the stud on the outside you should have no problem tightening it. With it jacked up and the rubber pulled down it looks like this-

yeah ive gone to home depot and lowes they dont have anything. and as for the auto stores around here they dont have any wheel studs that are that small. i thinking about going to a custom shop and asking around. i tried beating the studs out of my old kyb struts but they are welded in place and not pressed in like the ones on these sustec pros. im in a bit of a jam and wish there was a place that could just make me the bolt i need. lol let me know if anyone has any ideas

thanks everyone for the input i got them on and they are SWAGGGG. i would upload a pic but i dont really know how, my next step is looking for a lsd rear. if anyone knows where to get one on the east coast let me know. i have a 91 s13. im gonna be checkin out the classified adds

LMAO.
I didn't really. The study had stripped the actual hub, not the stud itself. Luckily some teflon tape would hold it in place so I could get the wheel tight enough. Well, just hope it works when I try to take it off.

Not sure what to tell you. This happened on my stock suspension setup and rather than dealing with buying a bolt, I just bought coilovers instead haha. Hell if you want you could always replace that one coilover if you find a deal on one.
