A month or so ago I was having troubles with a fuel injector that was shot. I ended up replacing it myself and the car runs great now except that the "check engine" light that appeared during that time is still there. The problem is that I have to get it smogged to finish up the registration/title transfer etc. and as long as the check engine light's on it can't be smogged. I've tried removing the battery cable (once for over an hour) and that didn't help. Does anyone know how to reset the light and/or get it to shut off. Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks -Glyph

LoL. Ive ran into ur problem many times b 4. unplugging ur battery for an hour wont do u any good. Now when u disconnect the battery make sure both negative and postive are hooked off. It could literally take any where up to 7-24hours. Another thing u could do is go to a car shop and have them read ur codes. (THey should do this for free). And have them clear it. I had mine done at autozone. Try unhooking the battery at night, because u aint going nowhere while sleeping...hope this helps u out a little.

yhea auto zone checks it for free and can have the code deleted.

or you could take the cluster off and take the check engine light bulb off.. thats beating the system.
