NEED help with car idle to high at 2k

Well it happen out of no were i took it to my friends house and leaving my house it ran fine idle like normal. Leaving my friends house i turn on my car and jumps up to 2k and stays like that. i get home leave it and try turning it on later on. Now idk what it can be. i checked if any hoes poped off and nothing, checked my throttle linkage and the same, i check the screw valve and i drop it all the way to the bottom and it drops maybe a couple rpm. Car runs fine just kinda weird any help??

You might have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check for any brittle vacuum hoses. What engine do you have KA/T , SR20?

ill check that tomorrow, and just a ka24de stock. it just happen out of nowhere. if it were the Maf or the tps sensor would the car run diff like would it bog or anything out of the ordinary?

Maybe your IAC or AAC kicked the bucket and is stuck open.

maybe i took it out like maybe 2 months ago and cleaned it out and everything worked fine but just this started happening.

Check the throttle body to see if anything is keeping it slightly open. If it is idling high perfectly, then it might be an internal vacuum leak somewhere such as the IAC, AAC or throttle body. If the idle is rough, then get a spray bottle and spray around the intake manifold with water and see if your car bogs. If it does then it's a external vacuum leak.

If not vacuum leak it's a coolant temp sensor and the car thinks is like -200 degrees so it's in warm up mode

hmmm Thank u for this. my temperature thing as been tripping out lately. like when i drive it hard it go from normal to strait super over heating. but when i drive normal it stays at normal temperature. it it was the coolant temp would it temp sensor stop working completely
