well hey guys... well my stereo ended up going out on me so now i have nothing.. so for Christmas my bro and his gf got me a sony deck with 6 1/2 and 6x9 well since we know the 6x9 wont fit i had some options and need help

1. could cut up the back to make the 6x9 fit and have the 6 1/2 at the doors

2. 6 1/2 in the back and cut a lil bit off to make the 6x9 fit at the door

3. Try to sell or trade some one to get some 6 1/2 to have 6 1/2 all around?

and also if i were to put the 6x9 in the back and later on put some 6 1/2 in the back were there be any problem with the extra space around the 6 1/2? if anyone could help it would be greatly thankful

The easiest thing to do would be to sell the 6x9's for some 6.5's.

You could also try putting the 6x9's in the back for a little extra midbass, but that will require some cutting/grinding and creating a mounting baffle out of plywood? Also, putting 6.5's there again, would require a different mounting bracket to be made because 1) they won't bolt up and 2) if it did, those big gaps would cause a massive reduction in bass output because the back wave would come and cancel part of the front wave.

Ditch the 6x9s. 6.5s will sound cleaner.
