the hell are you asking?

from what I can decipher of your post...

- the "loose" wires w/ the metal bracket hook up to the intake manifold most likely - not sure unless you post a pic.

- turning a certain way w/ the belts squealing = either loose belts (tighten up the tensioner for the belt that has a lot of deflection, or get new belts) or bad pulleys, most likely loose belts.

- all your gauges started working... probably has something to do w/ the loose belts

If your battery is not charging, and your alternator & battery are tested good, there's only 1 thing left -> the wiring from the alt->battery.

You can do a simple trace w/ a multimeter to find out where the charge is being lost (i.e. w/ car on, battery level is probably hovering @ 12v instead of 13.5-14v like it's suppose to be).

You may have just popped the alternator fuse.

If you still can't find it (or can't figure out how to trace wires correctly), I'd suggest asking someone local who knows how to work on cars to show you or just taking it to a mechanic, otherwise, keep on truckin'.

It's difficult giving directions over the internet w/o the actual problem car in view... much less they way you describe your problems.
