Hello Forum,

Happy New Year!

This is my first post, I am installing an aftermarket stereo in '15 Rogue SV. the steering wheel control and backup camera are not working, I would appreciate it if anyone can direct me in the right direction.
Also, one harness coming from the car has no place in the new stereo, is this 8-pin for the factory camera?

Thanks in advance!

That's probably the connector for the Aux port. You may be screwed on the steering switches without doing some rewiring. On the gen2 Rogue the steering switches connect to the cluster and not the AV Unit. The switch condition is transmitted to the AV on MCAN2, so if your aftermarket unit isn't CAN-connected, the only way to make it work may be to disconnect the steering switch leads at the cluster and re-route them to your new stereo.

Thank you for the quick reply.

The unit is CAN-connected, but I can't find a setting for Rogue, what CAN protocol can be used for a 2015 rogue?

That I can't tell you, it depends on your stereo. The '15 Rogue has a split CANbus where the BCM acts as a gateway, MCAN2 has the AV Unit, HVAC control, AVM, and Radar, with double terminators at the BCM. The cluster and everything else on the car talks to MCAN1, so you probably have some sort of format issue with addressing or identifying messages passing through the BCM from MCAN1 to MCAN2.
