sound like the previous owner beat the hell out of it and did a bunch of neutral drops. the bands inside the trans might need adjusted or replaced. you could try to flush the trans and replace the filter it might help. if not any of those (dont know much about autos) it could be a sensor? and i wouldn't know how to check em sry the shaking could be caused by a dirty maf and/or a misfire

Ya but I wonder if its not the transmission it could be a sensor or something simple i just cant get past the fact of it only have a fowards drive I put it in R it goes foward I put it in N and it goes foward. Wont jump out of 2nd gear my red line on RPMs is around 7 to 8k and i fear to get that high Engine temp reads red around 6k rpms and i let off. I just need a simpler solution for now then a trany swap.

well if your car was in a flood that could be bad. if it was salt water of course it corrodes electrical connections as well as other metals causing all kinds of problems. if it was fresh water thats better but as both the ecu and auto trans controller sit low in the cabin high water could have effected either of them. also the car sitting in water above the input/output shaft seals for a prolonged period of time could have displaced transmission fluid as water is heavier than oil leaving your auto trans full of a fluid that would create less pressure than the correct oil causing shifting problems as well as premature wear on internal components. more likely than not the later has happened. you could try having your transmission flushed and filled but if water has been in there for any real length of time the damage is likely irreparable shy of a full rebuild. the good news is that swapping to a 5spd is quite common leaving a large supply of good used autos. my suggestion is to find a known good auto and swap it out as a flush at a transmission shop could cost 100 to 150 depending on the shop and a used auto can be had for about the same price. hell i have two of them and if you were close i would give you both just to get em out of my way.

like i said you can have em if you want em thay are no use to me and i cant find anyone that wants to buy em. one came out of a running 92 it was wrecked and it came with my engine swap so i have never personally drove it. the other is out of my 90 and it ran when i removed it at 160k with only minor slippage unfortunately i had to remove a few connectors from it but the other has all the electronics intact. i also have an auto shift controller you can have if you like that came out of the 92. i wouldent reccomend driving your 240 here to get them as its not a short drive and it would be tough to stuff them both into the trunk. my email is [email protected] and im usually off on tuesdays and wednesdays. thay arent going anywhere anytime soon so lemme know.

No mechanics will flush trans they say the damage is done and its to late.....I dont know if i get to New Orleans for that transmission i want to but yet to find vehicle for transportation. On top of all this the car is now not wanting to start.I crank it it idles to about 1k rpms raddles and shuts offif i give it gas through this time it cuts offI get it to stay cranked me happy i give it gas its cuts off.Im guessing i should just get new trans and engine and cut my loses.
