First of all, that ad is lying.

How in the world does aluminum conduct less heat than ABS?

Secondly, it's hard to tell if that picture is generic or specific.

We've only seen one manufacturer produce a true CAI and they went out of business/stopped producing them.

That one required you to drill through the wheel well.

Thirdly, that claim of 10-15HP is

If you get 6-7, that would be pretty good. Will it sound better? Hell yeah!. Will your throttle response be better? Probably, but don't buy into their hooplah.

And, no, don't worry about Hydro-lock. It's a joke in most situations.

Don't go by the picture of the CAI, that is probably the picture for all of their intakes that they sell. Don't worry about water, it takes a full 2 liters of water at one time into the throttle body for the engine to even come close to hydralock. There have been debates on what is really a true CAI. I have an Injen CAI, and the piping goes directly underneath the car away from all the heat of the engine. I see no difference there and the Cattmann that had you drill a hole in the wheel well. I understand people's arguments, but neither one holds gains over the other. I know you want to get a cheap intake, but sometimes you get what you pay for, that's why I went Injen and I couldn't be happier. Good luck!

Blackmax likes wasting people's money

The Injen setup is really no better than a shortram off the throttle.

The only true CAI is the Place Racing, which is no longer available.

I'd go with a pop-charger. I just which JWT made a better looking filter element for their pop-chargers. I know it's for function, but damn did they make it ugly.
