K well I finally got my car started and now Im trying to figure out why its not running good. It revs very roughly and seems to sputter as I do so. Also its smoking a good amount of black smoke. I checked all piping and its all good. 99% sure Im not leaking for them.

I also when I had the motor out I replaced the intake manifold gaskets. Put it all back together and have to remove my up intake manifold to put in my new fuel rail and injectors. Would not replacing it after torquing it down and taking it off again cause a leak?

My set up if it helps is S15 brand new turbo, front mount, full exhaust, hks bov, and ras, Brand new oem fuel rail, 740cc injectors, and Jim wolf ecu tune. Please help me out Im really trying to get this car back on the road. Thanks

I just removed my spark plugs to check them and they are all straight black. Also something weird, the second spark plug from the front when I removed it that cylinder started smoking for a few mins. What causes that?

Im running NGk BKR6E with a gap of .022 Is that gap to small or to big?

too much fuel. black smoke=rich. Did you lube the injector o-rings before installing them? If not that could have torn the orings causing a fuel leak.

Have you checked your MAF?

Yes I check the maf. I was getting the correct voltage and everything.

Is there a way to check and see if the o rings are leaking?

you would have to take the injectors back out and replace the o-rings, really the only way. If you do lube them with some petroleum jelly(vaseline), before installation. But i guess the injectors could be leaking themselves as well, which means they would need to be replaced.

if you take the o-rings off to check and see if they are damaged do you have to replace them whether they look good or not? (ex. Similar to some gaskets)

I seem to be having the same problem; my spark plugs are very black after just buying new ones and a few of them reek of gas.

Well the injectors are brand new never used other the just now starting up and testing by jim wolf tech. So I guess Ill order some new ones. And see if that helps.

Or if I were to remove the fuel rail and turn the car on would that show if I had any leaks?

Yeah pull the rail and just key it to run. You'll know then if you have a leak or not.

Just sounds like it's running super rich. Look for vac leaks. Check your TPS sensor voltage. Check your CTS voltage. Sometimes when the CTS is bad it will tell the ECU that the engine is cold resulting in the ECU dumping fuel to warm the engine up.

If you can check your fuel pressure and bring it down to 35-38psi.

My fuel pressure gauge says its at 35psi. I was just out testing stuff out and I decided to unplug my maf. When I did that it ran perfectly. I installed a used z32 maf. Could it be my wiring?

Sounds like a bad Maf. Is your ecu set up for a z32 maf? That could be part of the problem if it isn't.

Yes my ecu is a JWT one tuned for z32 maf and 740cc injectors. Im thinking, more so hoping its wiring of the pig tail if not im gonna need a new maf. Is there a way to test if the maf is bad?

Other than swapping in a known working one, not that I can think of. Triple check your wiring and go from there, but it definitely looks like a maf or wiring issue at this point.

Is there a way to figure out which wire is which? Because the guy who did my harness I guess used different color wire.'
