Need help with 1974 620 ignition

I really need some help. The ignition in my truck is acting odd. When the ignition switch is in the start position, the truck runs. But when the key is turned back to 'On' the truck engine stops running. Any ideas?

So, when you hit the starter is the key farther over than the mark on the key slot? My 620 had the lock ring loose on the key slot so that it moved over and when it was running it showed that it was in the start position.

I wish it had been that easy of a problem. It just wont stay running. We replaced the ignition and the starter, and it still wont stay running.

I had a total electrical meltdown last month. I consider myself lucky that the bug didn't catch fire. Fortunately there is a repair shop in Duluth that specializes in electrical issues. They fixed me up in no time for well under $200. Sounds like if you have a similar shop, it is time for a trip into town.
