If you have a hicas with a momo hub adapter, then your hicas no longer works. there is a sensor in your steering column that measures steering input angle. Without this sensor your hicas system renders itself inoperable.

The only adapter available that retains this sensor is the nismo hub. you can get it from http://www.raretrick.com but it is fairly pricey. I don't know if it will work with the momo steering wheel though.

that doesnt make sense..... i HAD a grant steering wheel that the previous owner installed, it had a grant 5 lug hub and i got the "Grant to momo" hub adapter from cardomain.com shop. it was just to convert my grant steering wheel to a momo one because momo uses 6 lug. or whatever. anyways my hicas is still intact. are you sure that is all completely correct?

without the sensor in the steering wheel the hicas system will disable itself. the previous owner either removed the sensor or adapted the grant hub to work with the sensor.

the sensor has 2 prongs that stick out and interlock with the stock steering wheel. for an aftermarket hub to work it would have to have holes in the hub to accept these prongs. without these prongs the hicas system does not see a steering angle input and will not function as it thinks the car is going straight all the time. If you pull off your stock steering wheel you will see what I am talking about.

yes you could, you just need to measure where the sensor is after you take off your stock wheel and cut the appropriate holes in your new hub. beware that the material used in the hub is very thick and very difficult to cut through with any kind of accuracy.

I encountered a similar problem. I had already disabled my HICAS, but my horn does not work. Does anyone know of a way to ghetto-rig the horn to work with a standard momo adaptor?
