the easiest thing to do is just get an entire coilover setup.Tein makes the HA series for around 1000-1100, which comes with everything you need. They have the new Flex series out which has a teflon coating to reduce weather wear, comes with upper pillow mounts for camber adjustment and also allows for the electronic dampening control modules to fit under the hood of the S14 (cost is around 1500$). Not sure about the S13 though...but just check out their website

I just installed the HA's on my S14 and they are Phenomenal. Easy install, good instructions, all parts needed come with.

cheaper solutions are available, but not with the same tuning capability. (tein is 16 way adjustable and also has about 3.5 inches in height adjustability)

good luck.....

hope this helps

I just went to their website, their cheapest damper kit are HA's and they go for 1150 is that worth it?....I mean it's the lowest kit should I save more to buy a better one or the HA are good enough, I plan to use my car for street and autox.

it's not a question of whether the HAs are good enough. They are amazing and probably in terms of performance identical to the Flex. The only differences that really matter are the ones that I listed in my previous post. But if you do autocross, it might be worth for you to the the flex b/c they do have upper pillow mounts which give you easy camber adjustment.....invaluable in autox.

List is 1150 on the HA, but you can find it for 1050, or even better. Flex...probably 1450 or so. But if you factor in the price of the pillow mounts (300$ that takes care of the price difference right there).

If I had to do it again, I'd get the flex to have the somewhat better features.

But both kits are fantastic.

I can refer you to a shop where you can get a good price if you can't find one on your own.

good luck

You can call or email tein about the flex line and see what they say.

I'm almost 100% that the HA does not come with pillow mounts but I don't know for sure what is included in the kits for different cars.I just installed a set on my 95 240 and there were NO pilllow mounts.

Like I said before, the pillow mounts are like $280-300, and that is where most of the difference in price between the HA and the FLEX come from

hope this helps

I understand thank you, how do the pillow mount help, I know it sounds dumb but I just wanna know what everyone single part does, is it for dampenin purpose?

not a dumb question at all...i had no idea until I investigated either

The upper pillow mounts replace the stock damper mount and factory strut bearing with an aluminum mount and metal strut bearing. By replacing the softer factory damper mount and rubber strut bearing with metal components, vehicle handling and response become more firm and precise.

In addition (to this info taken from http://www.g-speed.com) the front upper pillow mounts on the Teins allow for camber adjustment, by adjusting the upper mounting point of the strut.

the pic below, shows the right Pillow mount (front) with the slot in the middle for the camber adjustment. Notice the rear is just a hole, with NO camber adjustment. If you DO decide to get pillow mounts from another company for Tein struts, MAKE sure the strut will fit into the mount, b/c the sizes are NOT universal
