The popcharger shouldn't be causing this.
If you've got the original battery replace it. Probably a weak cell?Hookm36 wrote:OK, so I have a 2004 G35 auto, has 50K miles, over the past 3 weeks, I have noticed that when I start up the car (doesnt matter what time of day) that it kind of hesitates to start, the starting sound is weak, not as bold as it was before.............NOW, a buddy of mine has the exact same car, an 04 w/ about same mileage ect......he is experiencing the SAME EXACT problem........I dont know what it is?
we both installed a JWT pop charger and z tube at the same time, but it was back in like September i think......we have not re-oiled the filter, could this have anything to do with it ?
Thank you for your help!

For the love of God...please don't let a BMW owner see you pushing the G.
I just got "followed" by one of those Bimmer owners. I was driving to the post office to send off some wires and as I signal for a lane change, I see a 5 series coming up fast into the lane I want to be in. He follows me into a turn lane, down the street and when he realises I'm going to the post office, he decides to flip a u-turn and break traction.Tampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:
I can see it now on TV as a BMW advertisement A NICO member pushing his G35 to get it started. BMW owners never have to do that... We just turn a Key

Everyone that drives a stick should give it a try. Next time you are heading down a hill with no traffic pull over to the right & shut off your engine. Place transmission in 2nd gear, turn on ignition & let vehicle begin to roll down hill with your foot on the clutch. At 10 MPH or so let out the clutch & the vehicle will start. With a weak battery always park in a place where its possible to start the vehicle as described above. Also its a good idea to carry jumper cables.Sentientbydesign wrote:Mostly likely the battery.
But it could be a corroded wire or a short circuit somewhere.
When you turned your car on in the past, did your interior lights dim?
If so, it's definitely the battery.
If your G is stick, you should be able to push it and turn it on, though I've never tried it. If it's an auto, get a jump start and drive it to somewhere to get a new battery (don't turn it off until you get a new battery).
Or buy a emergency starter battery unit. I keep one in the Titan just in case I do something stupid like leaving a light on. Thought, I think I've used it more often to help other people than myself...telcoman wrote:

Well if the battery is 4 or more years old, it is possible not all of the cells will accept a full charge? You will need to purchase a battery hydrometer to check the specific gravity of each cell. I believe the full charge reading is around 1280 but it will tell you on the float in the hydrometer. You may very well end up needing to replace your battery because cells without sufficient water for a long period of time are probably near end of life. Battery's tend to fail at the most inoppertune times. Nasty weather, middle of the night, etc.Hookm36 wrote:took it to the zone....battery is low....gonna add some distilled water to the cells, there was very little in there...
