i'm not too keen on the OBDII stuff but i know a few things you can remove

EGR (if you havent already)carbon can behind the drivers headlight. i used rubber caps for everything connected to this

all the stuff you are pointing to in the picture im sure you can jsut rip out and cap off. im not sure though if you are suppose to do anything with the plug or just leave it hanging.

what you do need to keep is the IACV and the pvc system under the intake manifold

The little Mini BOV looking thing on the intake manifold is the EVAP Purge Control Valve iirc...I pulled that off, and it has a line running to the intake mani, which I pulled off and capped. Then just follow the other big line coming off of that back to a hardline running along the frame rail and pull it off and leave it open. Then the 2 sensors on the strut tower are the BARO and absolute pressure sensor switches I believe, you can pull those off and follow the vacuum lines back to the intake manifold and cap them. Then just leave the sensors plugged in and tuck them away... the one mounted lower on the strut tower actual screws right into a hole on the lower/back part of the intake manifold, and you can zip tie the other sensor somewhere..And then on top where the fuel lines are.. The whole spider web of hard lines and sensors and what not, I just yanked that whole thing off and ran a feed and return line... And I bet if you leave the sensor plugged in and just tucked under the intake mani it wont throw a code..And if you pull the EGR off you can solder in a resistor to make it not throw a code...

After your done with all that stuff, if you want to clean up your engine bay even more you may want to run the harness under the intake manifold, I did it in my 96 and it looks alot better. All you have to do for that is trim back the individual injector pig tails from the main harness, rewrap it, and then run it under the intake mani and out the front..

Alright.. Grabbed some pics for you guys..

Heres the first pic, just the passenger side of the engine with that stuff removed and my harness tucked under my intake mani..The line I circled in red is something that I can remove, I just havent had the time... Its just going into a vacuum source and is plugged on the other end, Im just too lazy to go in there and put a cap on it since its kind of difficult.. 2nd pic shows where some of those vacuum lines that are ontop of the intake manifold run to, Im using 2 of them, one for boost gauge source and one for BOV, the other one I capped off..And this 3rd pic shows the harline which the EVAP purge control valve ( thing that kinda looks like a dsm bov ) runs to... I still have a bit of work to do on the harness.. I want to try and hide some more things and clean it up a bit..And it would also look a bit cleaner if I trimmed the fuel feed/return lines down a bit and tucked them away but once again, im pretty lazy. haha

i removed all that crap. I took it all off and unhooked the sensors too. Itll throw a code, but it wont affect the way the car runs at all. Also, the evap canister wont hurt anything =, itll juts make the pressure in the gas tank build up if you cap the line off. If you leave it open its fine, but i would go welding under the hood.

Thanks homie...

You guys need to look at when this thread was made...2005. Daniel240 doesn't even post here anymore.

To answer your questions, you don't gain anything by removing the emissions crap. You simply clean up the intake. You also have to atleast plug the egr tube hole after you remove the tube.
