Have a pristine '94 Q - first and only problem was "Brake Pads Worn" light came on - had brake job done and light would not go off. Figured out it was the relays/links in that mysterious black box under hood - but where is the diagram of which is which??? No, it gets better. Now, that light is competely out, as well as whole odometer panel, and Air Bag light is blinking non-stop.... Help! The dealer is my last resort on a problem like this.....Car is running perfect otherwise..... Odometer light was worthless in my opinion anyway, but that blinking red light... AGHHH!! Any help would be appreciated...

Did you use OEM pads with the sensors?

Did you do a SEARCH?

I'd make sure the sensors are wired up at the pads before I dove into all the electronics. There are two black wires at each of the passenger side wheels, one front and one rear. Mine doesn't have them on the drivers side so I assume that's the same for all. Anyway if the two wires have continuity, meaning they are connected, the lights should be off. Both front and rear must be connected. Some people have bypassed these sensors simply by wiring the two wires together.

Big red button on the right tha says SEARCH.

Search recent and archived, search post bodies, search on sensors.

Also search the Infiniti Online Mechanic Forum, where this post (and several other recent ones here) should be.

At this level of moderation, perhaps we should just go back to one Infiniti General Forum?

I'd be careful if I were you-tempting the moderators.

Found my answer - these cars never fail to amaze me - to turn off blinking air bag light, push in rubber door switch button 5-10 times with ignition on - now only prob left is no light on odometer panel where "Brake Pads Worn" used to be -

Thanks QSIGuy - will double-check sensors ....

Maxnix - excuse the newbie... of course i've searched everywhere online, even have a friggin repair manual downloaded (might as well be in Japanese though)...Thought you meant there was a "Search" feature on the car that I didn't know about -- Duh!!

I'm glad you got the airbag light reset. Nothing like a potential ticking time bomb staring you in the face - although I think they usually fail in the "no blow" mode!

Do you think the dark info cluster is related to your toying around with the electrical components? The typical failure is a burnt out bulb that makes half of it dark, followed by the other bulb burning out. Can you still see the trip meter or error message if you shine it with a flashlight?

Now that would be cool, but it would probably report your speed and location back to Central Control also (see OBD III).

FSM is pretty good, and reasonable in my book. Look at RS 22 and RS23.
