I have a 2002 infiniti q45 and I need to replace the radiator which has cracked but the car isnt showing any signs of overheating.so I have looked in the manual and a write up that was done about it in these forums(it might be an older model not sure) but I still have some ?'s.1) let's start with CO-12 part 5 in removal when the condenser is lifted up, during that time where and what is happing to the radiator can it be moved sinced its clipped in? So do I grab condenser and radiator? **what is a blind plugg and what can I use instead of one(CO-11) And is using nails instead of them a good idea.•do I really have to replace the pipe fixing clip,or what can I do to avoid this •where is the fan pump cooler bolted to? And the radiator should just slide off the condensor?
2)When removing the fan hoses for the fan pump theres is 2 connection per pipe, are both of these unboltable and if so will both have O-rings (manual only specifies only one ring and not which one to unbolt?)•is there a way to plug up the line s on the resavour or somewhers so all the power steering go everywhere or is it easier to drain it?•the water/fan pump is leaking fluid from the bottom but looks like its from the base but it isnt mixed with radiator fluid and the radiator fluid isnt mixed up with the power steering.yet power steering is leaking so my guess is an o-ring what yall think??•if I remove the pump to inspect it do I need a new gasket and would I need new O-rings?•how can I test the cooling fan to see if its coming on?
3)I'm also replacing the thermostat and was wondering do I need new rubber ring for the thermostat and a new gasket for the Water intlet and thermostat housing?•what is position deviation, basically most of the middle part of the installation on CO-24.
4)I'm also going to flush the engine on CO-10 step 3 to "rev the engine 2 or 3 times under no-load" what is no-load mean?•it doesn't mention using compressed air to dry the engine down like other folks do should I do that or air dry it or not worry about it and and the new fluid?•is there a way I could do this while I have the water pump off and is that even recommended?
5)while filling with radiator fluid some folks have the car on with the cap off and add fluid.should I do that or throught out the whole process have it on at all times through the process?•is the sound going to be noticeable when revving the engine to 3,000 rpm for 10 sec.(CO-10 part 10)• on the owners manual it state not to shuttle off the engine after having have had revved it.but through the whole bleeding the system u constantly are.so does that phrase mean right after revving or should I wait or would it be ok because it wouldn't be revved that high???..•how would I check the transmission fluid since my model doesn't have a dip stick just a cover I believe and I'm sure I'm going to loose some oil through the process(won't hurt but some1 remind me the location) or do I have to take it to the shop?•why is there a water pump listed for my year and model yet it doesn't have the oil fitting for the hoses?
6) I dont know if it means anything but the cap for the radiator fluid filler/resavour was broken at the top like it split.(the plastic one,not the metal one in front of the engine)
Thats all I can think of right now and the reason I'm asking about the rings and gaskets is because I'm short on time and local dealers dont have them.please let me know if I should check other stuff while I'm doing this or if I left anything out.another thing is I'm might have to go with a Carquest radiator which is $119 instead of the Denso radiator once again do to that carquest has one in stock(has a customer satisfactory warranty on it dont know if thats good)or should I just be patient and find a way and wait for the denso radiator?thanks for the help guys, seem like my F50 is falling apart but with your help we can keep my baby on the road....
