ive got the whole install done and now i need some help with the tuning. my wideband says at ide it is between 15 and 19. i havent gotten on it at all just driving up the street at about 2000 to 3000 rmps, the numbers then go down progressively to around 12- 13. it seems that when i shift the number will say like 50 though, i dont understand that. any input would help. trying to get this guy runnin tonight.

have the timing at 16 and an safc at -27. blow through mafs with 370cc injectors.

between shifts it says 50 because whne you let off the gas the engine cuts fuel and timing - no air going into the engine.

you should be able to get your idle right around 15 and keep it there. play with your dec.air setting ne1 if u need help with the idle.

while cruising you also want to be around 15

under wot and boosting keep it in close to 11.5. better to go richer if anything. not worth a couple more hp to go aggresive on a stock motor and management system like you and i use.

play with the high throttle map on a nice open road

should i mess with the low map at all just just the high pretty much? also, i was thinkin just to be safe to retard the timing a little bit more. would that hurt anything besides performance? right when i turn on the car (previously on) the LM said RICH on the screen. i dont know if it was the intial start up or not but that went off within a few seconds. the the numbers began to rise to around 17 at idle. when id give it some gas it would go down to about a 12 or lower so i guess im in the ballpark just need to add some fuel in the idle and some in the rpm band. that sound correct? also, im running 93 octane. thanks structureZak

just a somewhat of an update. today ive ben driving around giving it more and more throttle. ive got to about 6 lbs of boost but my wastegate is set at 8. ive tried to mess around with the decel air but it doesnt seen to do anything. ive gone from 8% to 12% not seening a change so i kept it at 10%. car is really loud bc its straight out after the downpipe for now. i need to get a pipe in there w/ a high flow cat. anyone have an opinion on cats?

I believe the 02 sensor has to get up to about 600*F before it is accurate. 16 should be fine. If you retard it too much, you will get low throttle drivabilitly issues. You will get a lot of bogging and hesitating.

good call on the bogging and hesitation. i went on the highway tonight and was at the top of 4th gear and it felt like it was doing that. i guess ill advance the timing a tiny bit back to 16.

dec. air setting NE1 is what will change the idle around. i have the dec. air THR around .8% i think, im using a z32 maf so my settings are a little different. the timing is jsut fine where it is. check you spark plug gap. bring it done to aout .035"

By the "top of 4th gear" you mean you were boosting right? The hesitation will only be present when you are cruising in vaccum. Like between 20-10in HG. Definately gap the plugs down.

ya i was just reading about the gap in another post. ill do that when the weather gets better(winter storm). should i just go out and buy some new plugs? not sure when the last time these were replaced. should i go w a certain one? structure, that is a .8%? thats damn low from my 10%. ive noticed if i dont have my heat on the idle will go down to 15.5 or around there but if it is on then its up to 19. should i start by lowering the num or highering it?

go with ngk bkr6es-11 plugs. that is one heat range colder and can be had for about $10 from napa

i found very little differences when changing the THR setting. if you search the forums you will find the procedure to correctly set the dec. air settings.

as for the thing with your heat. sometimes my car is similar. if i hit the a/c or defrosters then the idle will lean out and get rough. after a couple seconds or so it usually stablizes. its got to be some kind of electrical thing.

when this happens add a few points the dec. air NE1
