hey i just got my CA18DET but i need to tune it with my SAFC II. the motor has a T28, 440cc injectors, greddy FMIC and piping, Equal length turbo manifold, KA24E MAF, and Trust Downpipe. Just need to know what i should set my SAFC to so i can get it running. i did search on the site but it is different on each setup. Any help is greatly appriciated thanks.

hmm would it keep your car from running entirely, I dont think so.

I could be wrong however, I dont have any experience with safc.

perhaps your plugs got fouled while the dood screwed with it?

From what I've seen inheriting a car with SAFC is a gamble, you never know how much of a hackjob was done installing the thing. I think if you posted the current settings in the SAFC unit we could better help you.

Hot wire, 2 in 7 out (n62 maf) 7 in 7 out (CA maf) no clue (KA-E maf)

4 cyl

TPS 0-5v

Start with a -12 or -15 or so around the low RPMs and gradually ease up on it until you are about -5 to -7 at redline and see if it won't run. It should.

its not a random mod. i have read that the KA-E MAF runs the engine lean in the higher RPM range but i cant afford that yet. i think it is just the plugs i havent put them in due to snow and school but they should go it tomorrow. thanks

NO, it runs lean in the upper RPM range if you don't correct for it somehow. You have an SAFC, so you can correct for it. The Z32 MAFS is overkill for your setup.

Umm...do you not have the red silicone boot on the coil?

Pull the boot off and look at the end of the coil. It should have a black, ceramic sort of looking thing that is spring loaded (you can push it in and it will push back out). Often that spring-loaded contact will come out and then the coil is no longer in contact with the spark plug, hence the arcing.

I dont want to thread jack, just a question that goes with his setup. Will an SAFC suffice with that setup? I have a T25G, 450cc, Z32 MAFS, fuel pump etc and I cant get an ECU tune to work for the life of me. Would I be ok switching to an SAFC like him? Thanks.
