Here's the situation. I recently installed a short ram intake on my 240, and ever since i have had strange problems with warm ups and pulsating acceleration. AIV is removed and that's it. I almost feels like a weak fuel pump, but i could use some input as to what you guys think.

also when i installed the intake, I accidentally left the MAF unpugged. should i have to reset the ECU if it ran for like 20 seconds with it unplugged.

I still have to get the rattling timing chain guides out,(already checked valve cover and oil pan, and no sign, so i guess it's in the timing cover.)

I have already checked my ignition components so no fix there.

any help or useful input appreciated.

THanksJeremy

resetting the ecu when you unplug your MAF isnt necessary, but it sounds like its still got a bad connection, also, go back over it and make sure there isnt any air leaks and that you got both of those hoses for the idle back on and leak free too.

are we talking misfire here? or like idle variation? are all the hoses and stuff hooked up on the new intake?

Chris i did the wiggle test you refer to so often and after adjusting the three plugs close to the TB... nice smooth idle at 750-800, no pulsation during acceleration.

thanksJeremy

if it does not happen again then you fixed it.

if it does you know you have an issue in that general area. it could be the harness/connectors or the component itself.

congrats, doesnt it feel good to successfully employ the wiggle test?

Actually It kinda scares me, because there are alot more sensors and plugs that it seems that could cause the engine to run like a retard. speaking of which, does nissan sell just the metal clip to hold on the MAF sensor...iv'e lost mine somehow.

ThanksJeremy
