ok, so i was 1 block away from home and when i went to push on the clutch it went right to the floor. At first i though ok probably master or slave cylinder, but i look under the car and the piece that sticks out of the transmission that the slave cylinder presses on his just dangling out the side. How do i go about fixing this, do i need to take my transmission off? I couldnt get a good look yet because im parked on a hill and i gotta get it flat before i go jacking it up. If this ever happened to anyone else let me know what you did.

It's only held on by a sprig clip, and is pretty rought to put on. What I had to do was pull the boot that the fork goes thru, then push the pin on, then install the boot again. It just sits on a ball pivot, then the spring sits in the channels of the pivot, then clips into the sides of the fork. Good luck man, it's a s***ty job.

ok i kinda ran out of light tonight, but i got up to where everything is unbolted and everything unplugged. I'm trying to pull the transmission back but the housing is hitting the firewall, how far back does it need to go before it will drop down?

About 6 inches, your best bet is to put a block on your oit pan and jack up the front of the motor. You can also spin the trans, so the starter bump is facing down. The tunnel is kinda tight on the s13's.

It's only a days worth of work, you should be good. The hardest part is putting it on.

s*** I'm horrible for remembering. I put all the trans bolts in the order they come out, in a piece of cardboard. Then you can't forget!

just gotta wait for my new pivot to get here, anyone have any more tips on getting the trans back in, that thing is hard as hell to get out. I was thinkin bout hitting the sides of the fire wall in just a little, seems like 1/2 and inch and the b**** wouldn't rub on it

i lay on my back and man handle the transmission in.this way you can spin it side to side to get it in.

also have the motor jacked up a bit using a block/ or piece of 2x4 on the oilpan to free up some space between the top of the trans and the transmission tunnel

Ditto on both, don't smash your tunnel.....No need. Loosen your motor mounts as much as possible without taking the nuts off, and jack the front of the motor up. You can also have someone put a 27mm socket on the crank nut. While you push the trans in, have them turn the crank. It helps to line the splines up.

got the pivot fixed, trans finally back up in car. Man that is a pain in the a** lol just gotta tighten it up and put the drive shaft back in tomorow. Went out and bought a ratchet strap, after pulling the engine back with it it was so much easier. Thanks guys for all the tips.

Being without my car for a week sucked hard lol im gonna be so happy tomrow when i can drive again!!!
