so right now i have a ca with je pistons stock bore shot peend and polished rods. everything balance, i just came accross a incredible deal on a block that has been machined to 84mm with a tomei 2l kit. tomei crank stock polished rods and tomei pistons. everything is assembled and has 0 miles on it. all the work was done by tomei to as what i could make out of what it wa saying. so should i go 2l or stay the 1.8l. the draw back is shipping here. thats gonna cost alot and take months. also how is this going to affect my revving capablities. i plan on going to 9200-9500 now would i be less likely to go that far? boost boy paul you wise people shed some light. thanks

I can get you a Tomei Motor faster than months, how about two-three weeks.

not to be rude but you couldnt touch my pricing on stuff. and shipping from japan to here is gonna be a few months because there is no way i am paying air on a iron block thats assembled.

nomore _mr2 I would seriously consider the tomei motor they are tough as the rev limit should be fine I think? as they use all the best stuff most tough ca's I have seen use this kit the extra capacity would help heaps with that little snail you are putting on :D they are also properly engineered you wont regret the decision next question what type of box are you going to run on that monstor :Dbtw I am assuming its a crate motor

well its just the bottom end it isnt a whole tomei engine. and i think i am going to pass on it. shipping on it makes it not worth while. maybe when i can figure out how to ship a container over here i'll fly over to japan and hand pick some stuff and watch the container come over. i guess for now i'm just gonna stiock with my block i already ahve built. i'm also using a hybrid transmission. ca bell housing mated to a sr20 gear box. when that blows i'll have a os giken close ratio cross gears installed.

hmmm interestign re the box another option to consider is puting the ca bell bousing omod modding the bell housing of an rb 25 box tehy handel over 600 hp.make sure you get uprated input shafts on the os kit as well and this was a weak point found out but a mate using micky thompson street slick cheersmeggala

nomore_mr2: I would go with the original set-up as you could very well be capable of producing the same type of power les the money spent and the wait. We all know Tomei is a well company in Japan that manufactures solid parts and you as well as I know it costs to play with rich kid stuff. Work with what you got first and if you think you've exploited your current set-up for all the power it is worth, then it wouldn't be such a bad idea to press on to something new like 2 ltr stroker kit. Heck, I got an even sweeter deal on a whole JUN out fit and I'm going to follow through with purchasing it, but I'm eager to see what my current set-up is capable of.

well i made the desicion last nite to just keep my block that i already have done. i'm sick of down time and playing the waiting game on parts to arrive. i jsut started again with the new cams and i really dont wanna wait months for a block to be shipped over. i can always find a better deal then what i have found now. so we'll see. i know i will pop my engine within the first month anyway so i will start building something better then.
