a compression leak test is like where u put an air hose (using an adapter) in where the spark plug goes and put the motor in a compression stroke (all valves closed) and see where the air comes out ive never done it but the idea is if air comes out the cooling system or the side of the block its a bad head gasket and if it comes out of the crank case then its bad piston to block contact (like piston rings or pistons or scratched block) and if it comes out of the intake than its an intake valve and if it comes out of the exhaust its the exhaust valve im also gona try to give a like to pics of the intake i have more but these are the best..
