Hey guys, I have a brand new 05 tsx NHB and there are so many little scretches!!!~ I decided to get a buffer. I took detailing class so I know how to do it but don't know which one to buy. I found some from shucks but not sure if this is the right one? What is differences between the buffer and waxer/polisher? Is there any other place I can find good one for good deal? let me know

Your links arent working but the one my friend used on my car was a Dewalt and you can adjust the speed. I think he said it needs to be between 2000 and 3000 rpm

My bf bought two Blue Point buffers from the Snap-On guy at the Nissan dealer. They're bada$$
I have a junk 7" Harbor Freight variable speed polisher/sander/buffer and a junk Shop Force 10" D/A Polisher/Waxer. Just got the HF one on sale for twenty something. The Shop Force I got on sale at Meijer for about 70% off. Cost me $11. Ha. Can't really use the adjective 'good' to describe those brands. But they are definitely good 'bang for your buck'.
The difference being that buffers are rotary. They turn in the same place over and over. This is good (and what you need) to take out scratches and orange peel (you probably have some) off your car. Follow the directions on your compound (probably 3-M Perfect-It) for speed. Mine suggests between 1500 and 2400 rpm I think. Rotary buffers leave 'swirl marks'.
Most Polisher/Waxers are orbital (aka random orbit, Dual Action, whatever) They do not remove sanding scratches or orange peel because they don't repeatedly go over the same pattern like a rotary. They are made for removing swirl marks and polishing, not for removing scratches (perhaps very minor ones though).
Depends what kind of scratches and/or peel you've got, I'd say. Polishers won't hurt your paint. You need to be more careful with buffers as they can 'burn' through your paint if left in the same spot to long. The surface will warm as you use it.
As far as quality machines go, I don't really know cause I only have the cheap ones. Hope this helped a little.
