95 240sx SE (5-lug) THe car will be operated in Phoenix almost 100% of the time which means NO rain/snow for me at all. If/when it does rain then I would be inclined to drive carefully. I guess my budget would be under about $1500. Yes I would buy used if the wheels were in good shape, but i would love to spend the money on tires and get a good deal on some wheels and pay a LOT less (this way i could have some really nice tires) -- I just don't know exactly what to look for.
The car will definetly be set with coilovers in the very near future. I will be driving it daily, auto-x'ing about once/twice a month and the occasional spirited driving. I really do NOT care about wet weather or all-season tires at all. Drag racing I could care less about and drifting is not big on my list. I am wanting something light ofcourse (or at leist NOT heavier than stock, unless they are really cheap) The streets in phoenix are pretty smooth for the most part (aside from downtown) so thats all cool there..doesn't have to be forged
I would even like to possibly get some mustang wheels for the "cheap" factor. I am having a hard time finding the 17x8 +35mm offset wheels so I kinda gave up. I have read all about hubcentric stuff and threads on people using lugcentric wheels instead... In my experience its been ok using lugcentric wheels so I don't mind doing so on my 240sx. 70.5 is the bore size on the wheels and 66.06 for nissan. Do you think that getting a 4mm spacer would be better than not having one at all? I would think that they do not make a 4.44mm spacer to perfectly make the stang wheels fit :p Having a huge lip isnt entirely necessary, just something around 7.5-8" wide that will fit 225-235 tires on there easily. Also I do not think I want staggered settup either.
Anyhow I am thinking that the Falken Zeux 512 or Khumo 712's are what I will be gettgin for the tread wear and decent dry performance. If I found a cheap set of wheels then the Azena's or somethign better will be in place of these.
I am just looking for some suggestions on wheels. I will probably be wanting a 17" wheel that will simply clear my coilovers. A 225/45/17 is only 3mm off of the size of the stock 205/55/16's so i think that will probably be my tire size as I know its an option for most all performance type of tires and not to expensive either. Wheel suggestions would be cool, the lighter the better obviously! Thanks for reading all :ylsuper
