ever since i swapped in my rb25det my temp gauge goes all the way up, past the H, as soon as the ignition is turned on. I replaced the sensor on the intake manifold, the one with only one wire with a brand new one (meant for my car, 89 sohc ka) and it still does the same thing. how do i fix this?

first of all the gauge cluster temperature sensor is not on the intake manifold. secondly sounds like a wiring issue, id check your ****.

the temp gauge in the cluster you are trying to read is coolant temp.. so check that sensor/wiring to find your problem

By intake mani I assume you mean in front of it on the coolant lines? Switching the sensor should be all you need so I'd have to agree with checking the wiring. Possibly the accessory wire or whatever they call the wire that tells the gauge how much to read is not properly run.
