I'm new to this board and new to 240 vert ownership - great site.

Last week i came home from a short drive and the tail lamps stayed on. I've searched around and have no idea what is causing it.

Is a logical to look where the brake pedal sensor may be? I had it disconnect the wire lead to each tail light to get them off. This is a head scratcher - I searched to forum and can't find a thread addressing this particular issue.

Any help/direction would be appreciated!

Most likely the issue is the pedal assembly sensors. There's a rubber stopper (2 i believe) type piece that pushes a sensor in where the pedals are located. It is pushed it when when you are not on the brake's or any other pedal. etc.

Over time it gets hard, cracks, then breaks off. This causes the sensor to always be open and not pushed it etc. Look underneath by the pedals and you will see. Simple fix by getting a new piece from the dealership or a bolt and nut etc.

This is most likely the problem. This is also the cause of many cruise controls outages. Take out the driver's seat and get ready for some contortion - the peices he's talking about are very hard to get to. I had the same problem about a year ago and used the nut and bolt fix. Good luck!

Much thanks. I'll seek out the part and prepare to contort. I dug under there over the weekend and it appears to require some flexibility.

Once i get it all back together i'll post some pics. I had a '91 SE-R back in the day and think an engine swap and 5-speed are in my future...

You can also take a couple pennies and glue them there.
