Does this shifter look like it'll fit the 240 transmission?

Just wantd to make sure before ....

I was going to install it today, but then I have to take out those 6 bolts to take out the shifter. Some of the bolts is hard to reach, I have to get me some long wrenches..

Are you sure that you have to remove those six bolts? I had my shifter out and I didn't even have to touch those bolts... but then again, I also haven't put in an aftermarket shifter either...

Hey man,

I'm the one that sold it to ya (Jon). You don't need to take off the six bolts. After you take out your old shifter and put in that metal ring under the plastic seat, take the 'lips' part off the tomei shifter and put it on the transmission. Then bolt the shifter assembly to the lips and you're good to go.

The 'lips' part I'm talking about is the one with the small springs. The springs are there for a reason....you strech them so that it goes on the transmission and once its on it stays there so you can bolt up the shifter.

Let me know if ya need more help. I just helped my friend put in another tomei SS a month ago so its still kinda fresh in my mind.

Yea, I just find that out after I took out all the bolts off the gear box. I guess I could've just taken the ring metal thing off, but its ok, I learned something.

I thought i got the wrong shifter coz seems lke the metal nipples doesnt lock in the side of the shifter. I guess that's what that .5in metal thing is for.

Now it shifts like new

Glad it worked out! If its not too much to ask, could I see how it looks installed in your console? Just curious....
