Both KS are in same general place where all V6 and V8 knock sensor are located under plenum and bolted to cylinder heads.

Download FSM and study or search Q45 forum and you will find many many threads since every vehicle will need them replaced just like spark plugs eventually.

12 years is about the useful life, shorter if ever overheated or just life in hot climates.

Factory Service Manual which you haven't read...........these thousands of pages describe everything and allow idiotic 2 year trade school technican graduates and even some smart mechanics to function pretty well repairing the systems. A must to spend days studying BEFORE even contemplating serious work. Even shows you wrench/socket sizes and special tools needed.

Step by step with pictures.
