You'll need to get the truck on jackstands and remove the torsion bars, the torsion bar crossmember, both driveshafts, and the transmission shifter from up top.

Unbolt the transmission mount on the transmission xmember. Next, a transmission jack will make this much easier. Get the jack under there and support the transmission and transfer case. Now unbolt the transmission crossmember and remove it. The trans jack should be holding the trans and case now.

Now remove the starter, disconnect the clutch linkage and the transfer case shifter, and then the bolts holding the bellhousing to the engine block.

The whole assembly will need to slide back to come off. This will require you to lower the whole works to clear the floorboards.

There's probably a few details I've missed where a shop manual would come in handy but those are the major steps.

It's easier to remove the transfer case when the whole works is out from under the truck. About 13 bolts hold it to the transmission.
