So I was changing my brake pads today and I noticed on the right front side there was a dark green gunk all over behind the rotor. anyone know what it is and how much would it cost to repair it. thanks in advance for all your help.

stupid guess but it could be your axle or cv joint boot ripped.

not a stupid guess. That's pretty much dead on. Worn out grease from the CV boot certainly looks like that. You can try to use a repair boot and replace the grease. It might not be dead if you can still see grease. If you start to hear a clunking noise then you could be looking at a dying CV Joint.

i replaced them myself. about 60-80bux plus deposit per side at auto parts store. i do recommend doing this with help. if you're not comfortable doing it yourself have a someone knowledgeable or shop do it. i wouldnt drive on it for too long.
