finally she fired up, it was a bad CAS. I modified the SR20 CAS with CA18 CAS parts.

But there is another problem, the engine does not fire up by its self, I must spray starting fluid in the intake, without that it will not start!

what can it be?

Thanks.

OK check if your fuel pump is priming. What your going to do is put the key in the ACC position, and have a friend back in the trunk area. He should hear a very slight mechanical whirring. If he dosn't then your fuel pump is either not getting power, or its bad. If he does hear whirring (or you can got directly to this test) I would move to the front of the car and remove the pressure fuel line (the one that comes from the fuel filter) then crank the car and see if fuel comes out. If no fuel comes out then you have a clogged filter, bad pump, clogged line, or pump not getting power.

Try these and let me know what happens. Also you could always just remove the fuel rail, turn it upside down (WATCH YOUR EYES) and crank it. If you don't see fuel come out, then you have a problem. Try the above tests and post the results. Good luck Chris

Thanks for your input,

I've checked all the thing's you have mentioned! Everyone seems to be OK!!

I can crank the motor the whole day without getting it fire up, but if I spray starting fluid or carb cleaner in the intake manifold it will fire up in a second.

Does the SR has an starting enrichment valve or something similar?

Huh, kinda odd. All I can think of is a fuel problem, because if it starts up when you use carb cleaner, then obviously your getting spark. Does you motor run after you've started it with the carb cleaner? Is your fuel regulator vacuum line hooked up to the throttle body? Stock injectors? Stock Fuel Pump? Could you post a picture/pictures? I don't think it has a starting enricher, or anything like that. How old is the fuel thats in your tank? Chris

after it starts , it runs and idles very wel, just like any other/normal engine. Fuel press. reg. vacuum hose is correctly hooked up.Stock injectors, good/working fuelpump. The fuel in the tank is about 5-6 months old. What kind of pics do you want?

I did that exact same thing, I never would have figured that out if I hadn't read your post TMS :)
