Hey, new guy to the forum.I have searched the internet over and over again and not sure exactly what my problem is now. My car is a 91 240 with a ka24de dohc motor in it. The problem I am having is the car is having a hard time idling, and busting up on low rpms and anything less than 1/2 throttle. I dont see a loss of power because when I step on it it goes no problem. It sounds like speed buggy lol... It is idling at like 500rpms and stalls a good bit, smell a unbelievable amount of gas. I put new plugs, msd ignition coil, coolant temp sensor, cleaned the iacv and I am stumped. I was throwing a code 12 (maf) but after I changed the coolant temp sensor that went away. I cleaned the maf. I am wondering if changing the plug wires could fix this possibly. I have no check engine codes what so ever. Fouling out spark plugs really quick. I can keep it running as long as I keep my foot on the gas a little bit. Like i said, give it some throttle and it seems to be pretty smooth for the most part. I can rev past 5000rpms no problem at full throttle. Not sure what else to check any suggestions will be greatly appreciated i have googled the hell out of the internet. Don't know if it helps but my temp sensor inside isnt seeming to be working and the car idles a lot better on a cold motor.

unbolt your fuel rail..have a buddy turn the car to the on position..not crank it over..check to see if there is any fuel leaking by the rail where the injectors sit on the manifold....if there is..thats your issue..leaking O-rings..replace and enjoy...if not...then you need to adjust the idle...there are 3 ways this can be done...all of them will take time and patients to adjust..

#1.)idle air contrill screw on the intake manifold by the fire wall...adjust screw in and out till you find the desired idle..if that dont work..try#2.

#2.) tps...Throttle position sensor...this one requiers a volt meter...i dont remeber fully but at idle it should read 0.50volts...refer to the FSM (factory service manual) for the spesific test for the sensor...links are here on nicco.

#3.) there is a little screw and nut combo on the bottom of your throttle body that you can adjust to act like a idle controll valve..its pita to get too couse of all the crap in the way...to locate it...follow the trottle cable down to the pully ..its on the bottom next to the pully...you can use this by adjusting it to slightly hold open the throttle body and letting more air in at idle...this method was used way back in the day long before electronic idle controll equipment was invented..and is proven to work..but try the other methods first..this should be a last resort.

hope this gets you going in the rite direction..good luck..and keep us posted on your results.
