Need help starting SR!

im doing a swap for my buddy and when i try to start it it wont turn over but the only time it did it wouldnt stay on for long when i unplugged the intercoooler piping the tip of both the turbo piping had a lot of oil on them is that normal??? and not to mention it over heats also but im guessing its probly a thermostat problem but im really not sure can anyone help??

a lot of oil is not good at all. Pull the coilpacks and plugs and run a compression test. (compression numbers on each cyl. should be around 155 +/- a few psi) When you did get it running did the exhaust smoke at all? Also when you pull the plugs, look for oil on them. As far as it not starting/running for long, definitely check your IC Piping for boost leaks. Who did your friend get the motor from?

Double check your turbo lines as well and make sure you hooked them up nice and tight and that you didn't over tigten them and break the threads, definitly be careful about that oil
