my firend and i just swapped his coupe with a dual cam ka and are having some problems getting it to crank, let alone start. Whappens when we try to crank it, is the starter spins, the fan spins, but there is no crank to it, and after a second of doing this, there is a puff out the exhaust. Now, the only thing we can think of is either the timing being wrong, or we had a few connectors that we couldnt find the mate to (posted this in the ka section zer...ctors ) and those are vital to the engine operation.

This is our first swap, so we are not sure what to look for specifically. Does the cranking problem sound normal? Any help is appreciated.

PS. yes we checked the fsm on the connectors, and couldnt tell what was what.

so we took the head off yesterday, and discovered that ALL of the intake valves were stuck open, and didnt seem to be at the same angle as the exhaust valves, so my friend got a head today for 60 bucks with no stuck valves lol.

Ill post pics a little later, has anyone heard of ALL the valves being stuck open?
