Hello everyone. Today has been a pretty crappy day to say the least! Hopefully you all can share some light and guidance to my situation.

I purchased a sprint booster and installed it. I placed the car in drive and drove about 20 feet and no longer had any throttle power in the gas pedal. I removed it and put everything the back the way it was. The electronic throttle position switch that connects to the gas pedal no longer "clicks" in completely. Now after starting my car, my gas pedal no longer works and I have the SES, VDC OFF, and SLIP light on. I currently have the negative battery terminal off and will try again in the morning.

Ive seached google and will be calling the place I ordered it from and hoping they have a resolution to this. Thank you all for any help!

hey Donnie...sounds like you have to push the connectors together - tighter....use more force to get them connected..should snap into place

your car isn't getting the signal from the pedal to the throttle body(position) so it thinks there is no fuel...

I've had a sprint booster in my MB E350 and felt the difference...good mod (especially when I was in sport mode)

good luck....

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm hoping that's all it is, but it will NOT go back on. No matter how much forcing I do. I really think, I may have a bigger issue. Since the area is so tight, I'm going to trying to get a video clip with my phone to see it I can the prongs of the connector on the gas pedal itself. Thanks again for the reply!

UPDATE:

CPJ LB,
got it working. I removed my gas pedal and found 3 bent prongs. Took about 30 mins slowly bending them back straight but everything worked out. I did a quick spirited run and this is a large improvement from stock. It DOES feel like a new car. Would I recommend this product? Honestly, if I didn't have to go through the hassle that I did removing the entire gas pedal because the sprint booster bent three prongs in the DBW assembly, yes I would. Thanks again for the help! Hopefully this thread helps some other members out that are teetering on buying this.

so i don't want to burst anyone bubble but have you tried hitting the gas harder instead of paying 300+ for this device? cuz you'll get the same result. the only thing this "device" is that it amplifies the signal which is equivalent of slamming the gas pedal harder. if you don't believe me, you can do a search here where i've posted an article regarding the INFAMOUS SPRINT BOOSTER.

^LOL....trust me I've done my very fair share of research about this product on several forums. I did not buy it as a performance mod in gaining HP/TQ. I have my R2C CAI, and hopefully both the megan quads and UPREV tune in the near future for that. I will say this as a sprint booster owner. The car no longer feels like "my same old same old M45" I drive everyday. Yes, it does have the same HP/TQ with the booster, but now on instant demand.

When I had my 07 TL-S, there was a way to trick the ECM in resetting itself to have this immediate throttle response. Of course over time of normal driving the car "learns" the way you drive and become sluggish even during WOT runs. All and all I am pleased but would not have purchased this if I knew the install was going to be more than their 20min advertised install on most vehicles.

The gas pedal delay should be able to be programmed by Uprev. :yesnod

^LOL....it only makes your gas pedal a lot more sensitive. From several threads I've read from sprint booster owners, state this is how our vehicles should have came from the factory. I will try to upload a video a little later of the acceleration. I read a comment from a Porsche Cayenne Turbo saying that is 600+ hp SUV would not launch at full throttle even will the traction control off because the ECU only allowed a "controlled launch." It makes me appreciate my M even more and puts a bigger grin on my face when I drive her now!

Here is a quick video my buddy and I put up doing a quick launch in my 07 M45 with the sprint booster installed. Hope you all enjoy!

Sprint Booster for our cars does absolutely nothing for performance. All the device does is change the acceleration curve of the gas pedal by modifying the voltage, it cant make you go any faster. You just top out sooner on max throttle. So like instead of pedal all the way down being max, now 70% down is max and anything beyond that is also just max. Basically if you mash the gas pedal faster it will do the same thing. I read some very good reviews on it a while back that said this and showed testing to prove it, then had the opportunity to get one for like $60 so I decided to try it out cause the device was so cheap, and everything in the review is completely true, the device does nothing for real performance. Im glad the OP knew that going in or Im sure he would be disappointed

An UpRev tune would do far more for you, and they can fix the throttle delay with the tune anyway.

If you return it and spend 2-300 more, you can get tuned with UpRev!

good news...I'm glad you got it to fit and now it's snug :bigthumb: BTW, nice video...your car looks really good and the stance is nice!!! when you get the Uprev....uh oh....I think you'll be stopping by gas stations on a regular basis :ohno: Enjoy your ride!!!!

for everyone else who posted...I totally understand that it does not increase HP/TQ etc, etc....I get that...if I remember correctly, I don't believe I've stated I had gains in HP/TQ on this forum or anywhere else regarding the Sprintbooster... :gotme I just know that my response was a lot better in my old Benz...I liked the fact that I didn't have to 'mash' the pedal all the time to get a good launch...that was a good benefit....call it performance or not :bigthumb:

I think I paid $240(ish) back in 2007....? can't remember.

I have not tried it with my Uprev, so I cannot speak on that...but I don't believe it should have any issues if installed with Uprev...does not hurt to 'stack'...I'm satisfied with what I'm running now :woot:

mexillis,
I dont want to go through the trouble to remove my gas pedal again...lol. I am in the middle of another move so I am limited on when I will be able to work on my car so I think I am going to hold on to the sprint booster. I am have a long trip from GA to west TX ahead of me. Should be fun!

CPJ LB,
I almost considered calling a towing company and having my car brought to the nearest Nissan dealer. Glad I didn't!!! As far as the stance I put the oem size tires on the wheels and it looks a little funny compared to the 35 profile I had it the video. Maybe I'll come across a nice set of 20's...lol.

06M4.5,
Thanks, hopefully this helps anyone considering the purchase of the sprint booster for our cars, spite how my install went. LOL....the tires are new(er)!
