I am running Win XP SP3 on an HP Pavilion dv8000 laptop.Cable modem.Internet Explorer 7.Zone Alarm Security Suite 8.02

All of a sudden when opening a webpage the system "hangs" and seems to quit communicating before the page is loaded. If I hit the refresh button at that point it usually loads right up.

I can't view any videos from web sources. YouTube, Yahoo News, nothing. Just the blank frame where the video should be.

Trying to download a program doesn't work, either. I just get a "403" error message. I can get around it by temporarily disabling the ZoneAlarm firewall, but that doesn't help me with the video problem.

I'm guessing the problem is completely in either the ZoneAlarm settings or a conflict between IE and ZA, but I'm getting really frustrated trying to find it. Please help!

An additional problem, too. No matter how many times I delete it, Mozilla firefox keeps installing itself on my computer every time I log on to the internet. It opens up , launches something called "myapp" and keeps alternating between composing and sending email. I've adjusted the Zone Alarm to block it, but how do I eliminate this problem once and for all?

This has nothing to do with your problem, because I don't have any idea other than to start deleting programs you don't use. But I noticed you get ~28mpg in your Versa?

Yep. We've been disappointed with the mileage. This is the only car out of close to 50 makes and models I've owned or rented over the years that I've been unable to average at least the city mileage under the old EPA standards (the 2007 with CVT was rated 30/36).

What we're averaging is right in line with the average being reported at places like fueleconomy.gov

The Versa is engineered to run most efficiently in a narrow band, between 45-55 mph with no accellerating or slowing down. It's not very efficient around town and at highway speeds 65 mph and higher.

There are also wide discrepancies in mileage between individual Versas unrelated to driving styles. Has to be occurring when they are assembled at the plant in Mexico. The mileage problems get discussed heavily in the Versa forums here.

Yeah I may have to check out that Versa forum. My s2000 screams 4,000rmps at 72mph, yet I still get 23-25mpg/tank with mixed highway & city driving. Mostly city because I'm less likely to get rock chips in town...so I stay off highways if at all possible.

Did they intentionally gear the s2000 that way because it lacks torque?

My wife's celica pops 4k at 80 and she has the 5 speed.

Back to the IE, ZA issue.

I would check ZA's website to see if there are any known issues with ZA and SP3.

There might be a Firefox uninstall utility that will kill it all together. I'd personally prefer to use Firefox over IE, but that's all personal preference.
