Hey all, After getting rid of my '03 Z Enthusiast on my Altima Coupe trade, needed an everyday driver, I'm back with an '05 Track. The A/C is just about paid off, life has been good the past few months, and looking to start modding this thing up. I know stranger to turbo or tuning them. I had a big venture a few years back with a 422whp Scion tC and quite an education. I want to do this one right and pick the right turbo kit for what I'm looking for, which is basically a 12sec flat car. Looking to Turbonetics kit or the APS TT. I love the thought of two water cooled turbos but will a single do the job? Thoughts on the GT-K from turbonetics? Thanks for hearing me out.

AS you may need to boost beyond th preset boost levels of any bolt-on kit out there, the best thing to do first is figure out how much power you need, then subsequently, how much boost. Then plot the projected boost curve on compressor maps for each kit to determine which kit might be the best match. You might consider the costs of rebuilding the internals of the motor as well. The VQ's haven't had the greatest track record for durability under boost. Turning up the boost can't help.

Good advice and something I haven't overlooked. I wouldn't mind in the least bit putting a little extra time and money, or a lot now that I think about it, and really get something out of it. But as for kits, what are boosted Z's running under the average 8psi in the 1/4 mile (decent traction)? Is twin turbo over rated?

I'm a fan of single turbo's upgrading the turbo will cost half as much as the twin kit!

The APS TT is a great kit, but is expensive. I'm probably going to get the greddy TT kit when I do mine. APS single kit is also a good choice as well as the turbonetics kit.

We build, tune and install a lot of turbo, and twin-turbo kits on these VQ35 motors (built and stock). With what I have seen (whitch is alot), I would recomend a TT kit over a ST kit for severall reasons, although both kits will be just fine. Look into a Jim Wolf TT kit or maybe even a Greddy TT kit.

I also would highly recomend a built motor for an extra insurance polisy, I mean you can get into the 12's with a stock motor on about 8 psi with most kits, buy why chance a motor failure. Alot of it all comes down to personall preference and of course your budget.

Should be interesting to see what you decide......
