Why would he want an open diff. lol.

Looks like all they have right now is the actual diff. Maybe buy the one that pepe posted AND the helical diff and swap out the innards.

I'm guessing the speed sensor is your issue? Maybe look into an aftermarket speed sensor kit?

Check with shops that have connections with Japanese salvage yards. Shops that can import engines should have the connections to get ahold of the diffs as well. Also, check with www.venus-auto.com/ and www.jarcoinc.com/

The reason i posted the open diff was because it was the only diff i could find with the casing, which is the what the OP wanted. he didnt exactly say he wanted it to be a limited slip or anything.

ok all this has been really helpful but I didn't know the s15 came with different diffs so can I put a limited slip into the open diff housing?

You can put whatever diff you want in there, so long as it's an R200 compatible diff. Case in point, I put a VLSD in my open diff housing. You just need the S15 carrier housing so you can get the speed sensor.

What I find interesting is that in all these years, no one has bothered to cobble a kit or a DIY on putting the speed sensor back on the transmission. NISMO did it with the aftermarket SR 6 speed, so I don't see why it would be a true pain on the OE 6 speed unless there's seriously no embossment for placing the sensor.

i have looked on the trans myself and it looks like there is a bunge to put a speed sensor and it is capped off. makes no sense. put thanks guys i appreciate it. any idea where i can find the vlsd for the internals cause all i can find is hlsd and from my understanding it dosnt lock up completely like the vlsd. and do i need diff output shafts? and do s13 axles work with it ok?
