dont use the s15 transmission, it sucks. just get a sr bell housing and use your ka transmission

If I'm not mistaken (and I'm not 100% on this), but I've been told the VVT on the S14's is a bit tougher to mod. That and the S15 is newer and should in theory have fewer miles. More than likely most will have some pretty "hard" miles though. I've heard the "stock" S15 transmission is a bit weak, but I know NISMO makes a modded one for a mere $4500 http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-lo...20977 that addresses some of the OEM weaknesses. I personally like the whole getting an SR bellhousing and dropping in a KA transmission (cheap and easy to find).

yea.. looked at that too. The kits have come down a bit in price. I've already gone through one S13 SR transmission (bearing popped out and fried the gearset). I swapped in a KA, but want something with a bit more top end for cruisin' on the highway. I'm pulling around 3000-3100 rpm at 70. I'm hopin for something around 2400-2500 at 75, but I have a ton of other more pressing items to get first. KA trans are cheap for now.
