To anybody whos listening....

Id like some advice as to how to step by step take the valve cover off, take out the timing chain guide (thats rubbing), and replace the gasket. (Im not real familiar with the process....removing spark plugs etc....)

Tool sizes required would help too.

Oh yeah, and is this the only gasket I need??? http://www.overnightautoparts.....html

Any help or tips would be VERY appreciated guys. I need some answers ASAP.

PS- Can someone explain how to check the proper slack on the timing chain. Id like to just take the chain guide off, but I wanna make sure the chain is snug.

Thanks again!! :D

you pull out the spark plug wires, and there will be bolts around the edge of the valve cover, take all of them out, and lift. You will do it with a socket(proly 10mm) Its a pretty simple task to take the valve cover off, just think about everything logically. I am not exactly sure about the guides.

come on, have a sense of adventure! This is a 2 on the scale of 1 to 10. There are 8 bolts around the valve cover, and then 3 located in the middle of the cover. If you want a step by step, invest in a chiltons, it has exactly how to do, if for some ungodly reason you can't figure it out. Take out the plug wires from the car. Start in 1 corner and diagonally remove all the bolts, they are 12's or 10's, you can find out with sockets, lol. Remove the cover, and take off the rubber seal. then clean all around the rubber seal, removing any old sealamt. Then Take your new seal, and put itwhere the old one is, MAKING sure to use sealer where the rubber is half a circle. Make sure it is flat, if it's angled when you install the cover again oil will leak. Once thats done, put the cover back on, making sure all of the screws goes through a hole in the rubber gasket. Then diagonally screw in all of the screws, styarting with the one in the exact center, and going diagonally opposite. Tighten them until they resist the whole way around, then a second time tighten them to 70 inch lbs, or 11 Nm.

That is all

Be gentle when you're putting the three bolts in the middle back in. They break pretty easy. Don't ask how I know. hint: The lowest setting on my torque wrench was just a little higher than the factory specs.
