Unfortunately project Q has had it's hvac system stripped out. The only remaining parts are the A/C head unit, and the condensor. The condensor was rigged to be used as a transmission cooloer. I will have to replace this as is it probably really dirty from the fluid.

So basically I need an entire HVAC (AC/heating) system for a 1992 Q45.

Here is what I can get from a parted out Q45

What else will I need? Any idea how much the remaining parts will cost?

Thanks

dont install a used dryer! new part is inexpensive, and old one will be worthless.

Ok, thank you for the advice..

I really have no idea, what I'm doing in this regard.

I know by getting the following used, I am savings at least a thousand dollars

CondensorCompressorEvaporator

Are these the major expensive units of the AC?

Does anyone have a complete hvac system part matrix? IE, part numbers, description, and price?

Wow... That's gonna be a BIG project.

Ryan, i will have a 92 Q here in a few months (probably not soon enough for your project) that's gonna be parted out.

None of my beezwax, but why AC in a track car? Are you planning on daily driver status? Just curious...

Daily driver, with track use.

Must have A/C

Not even sure if I will keep the cage installed, I will need to show it to some cage gurus on Nico, and get their opinions.

Roger that.

Any definitive info on titling and registering?

It's sold as "for off road use only"

According to my research with the DMV, I can get a title bond

As long as it passes emissions & inspections, I can get a title bond.

With a title bond, I should be able to get normal registration, and insurance.

If for some reason I can't get sufficient titleing and drive it daily, I will probably sell it.

Check with Dr.Q a nico member who is parting a 92 Q45. I bought my 92 transmission core from him. I don't remeber anybody asking for the AC stuff yet. See his posts on the parts for sale thread under "parting 92 Q45"

I picked up a compressor for $85ish at a junkyard, drier was $50. R12 and a flush was a few hundred.

I know you weren't.

I want so bad to get that controller right now, but I just have so many other things to get first. I WILL get it though...... Hope you can understand.

I do.

I get the group buy price for my order anyway. I don't save any money by getting others to join in.. I just want others to experience the joy of having this thing installed in their dash!
