Im prepping my car for paint right now and have some rust spots that start by or under the trim. So i want to remove it to sand it out and do it right.

The trim that goes across the I guess you would call it roof area. With the top down its this plastic that goes the whole length of the windshield area part. With the top up its the part wehre the top connects to the windshield part. (not actually touchign the windshield its the part above that) I would assume I just pull it off and it has clips? Seems iffy though.

And the trim part on the quarter panel area. Top of the quarter panel is this black trim. Its right on top, before the door, and ends at the trunk. It looks like its held on by some double sided tape, but I think there has to be more then that. Theres one screw in there too, and i KNow its not just that screw that holds in on. I HOpe i wasnt to vague about all this, if I am then ill try to take pictures. Thanks.

In regards to the black trim on your quarter panel. Is that area rusting? After it was re-installed post paint job, the rubber seal under that black trim looked wavy so I removed it. I'm hoping that it wasn't necessary and that its removal will not cause rust. Does your black trim still have the rubber seal around it?

I believe that you need to remove the trunk trim section first. There are fairly obvious screws on the trunk section. Then go from there.
