ok so my problem is that when i first bought my car it was flat black primer. it didnt look that bad so i did really care about it. after a few car washes i noticed the paint looked like it was fading. So yesterday i was at work and i noticed my car had a bunch of bird s*** on the hatch. i grabbed a rag with warm water and started clean the bird droppings off the car. when i was done i saw that all the black primer had rubbed off. the car was originally white and the paint under the primer looks so much better than the stupid primer so i was wondering if there was a different way to remove the paint that would be easier that rubbing the paint off with warm water and a rag. like maybe a product that would make my life easier. it took me two hours to do a small section my way.

You could try acetone, or a rubbing compound, or wetsanding...

Test in a small inconspicuous area first.

For wetsanding, start with 400 or 600 and move to 800 and 1000, the polish and buff the OEM paint...

I'm sure you'll get more feedback - Wait and see if someone with more experience chimes in...

I had to clean vandalism spray paint off a white Q45 a long time ago, and acetone did the trick. Scary, though!

Did someone say my name?

Anyways, I would try VERY VERY light wetsanding. As Greg said, try in the most inconspicuous area possible.
