Hey guys, I bought the BeatSonic wiring harness to bypass the DVD lock while driving feature. I'm ready to put it in EXCEPT I don't know where to begin. I do not want to damage my system or interior in any way so if anyone has a video or a step by step on the M37 I would GREATLY appreciate it.

I'll even do a how-to as well to sticky here.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think anyone has done this for a M37/56 yet. Check the how-to from the M35/45. It won't be exact but it should provide good starting point and tips to help you along. Yes, please do a how-to with pics and I'll add it to the stickies.

I've installed the Beats Sonic bypass and it is a PITA to get that Dash apart and the amount of items that have to be removed is scary. I guess I should've done a write up. I followed the FSM to take it apart, it took me 1-2 hrs or nerve wrecking time to get it done, Suggestions - Buy plastic panel popping tools, use rags to help againt scratches, when installing the gear shifter back on make sure its in Park or what ever gear you should be in, TAKE YOUR TIME if you care about you M. but the Beats sonic PNP harness is MUST it's worth it. GOOD LUCK

Ok, I'm going to work on this tonight and see what I can do. The one thing I looked at was that the ring around the shifter that holds the leather in place doesn't move. How do I move that down?

It was a b****, but its done... j/k. Took about 45 minutes and $40 from a stereo shop in Santa Ana. Notice, car is in drive.

My only panic moment was the airbag light but I was able to reset that there at the shop.

If you search "Prestigious society M37" on YouTube - you can find a video of a guy who tears apart his center console/dash to install their product.
Doesn't look too difficult, just a lot of steps and different pieces to keep track of.

I would use some masking tape to protect the dash and dedicated plastic pry tools - he uses a flat head screw driver - yikes!! :ohno: I surprised he didn't scratch up his entire dash.

It's really easy to take a part. I've done it a bunch when wrapping my interior in different wraps. I'll do a write up when I install this beatsonic harness. Just make sure when taking the center console apart that you DO NOT turn on the car while harnesses are unplugged. The airbag light will come on and will need to be reset. Use the shift lock release to move the shifter.

FYI: I took a chance and ordered this for my 2013 M37x. It works great.

Where is everyone putting their toggle switches?
