Need help removing console lid on 97 Maxima

I am trying to replace the lid to the center console(used for storage) on a 97 Maxima. I see where it is attached with a hinge, using 2 screws. I also see where there are 2 metal arms that come out of the console and are attach to the lid, but I can figure out how to remove it from the arms. There are no screws, but a small plastic piece that looks like it needs to be turned. I've tried turning it, but can't get it to turn, and I'm afraid to force it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

If I remember correctly, those arms just pop out. It's been almost a year since I had my 98 so I can't recall.

On page 13 (Item #11) it says to "remove 2 screws under the shifter cover plate and also
remove two rear screws'
On page 14 there is a schematic of the center console
Looks like page 13 identifies the items on page 14
