Need Help: PWR Steering line inside diameter?

My Uncle's 1997 D21 2WD with the KA24E has a pretty good power steering leak coming off of the hose that runs from the resevoir to the power steering pump. What I'm trying to find out for him is if anyone knows or is willing to measure for me the INSIDE diameter of the hose that goes from the resevoir to the power steering pump on the top side of the engine.

The nissan part number for this hose is 49717-8B000. So far there hasn't been a dealership we've contacted that hasn't told us what we already know (that the part is discontinued and is not in stock). That being said, all we want to know is the inside diameter of that hose, so we can replace it with new Power Steering hose.

I will venture a guess that it is either 3/8" or 1/2". You might be able to use a suction line from a 1995 and older truck. They are slightly different but should fit (not much changed) and still available.

Thank you very much for your help Rev; I told him the same thing that it was most likely 3/8" or 1/2" and he wants to believe it is 5/8". And I'm going to try the trick of using the suction line from a 95 or older. I really appreciate the help. Oh and I showed him your build thread for your vivid teal D21 awhile back (his is vivid teal as well) and he thought it was pretty cool. I've been trying to convince him to at least put the slotted hood on his haha.
